Need help on c350 purchase
Hi everyone,
I’m new around here and I need a little guidance on whether or not to have my vehicle inspected at Mercedes only? I’m going tomorrow to possibly buy a used 2012 c350 coupe with 64,000 miles on it. It’s in great shape. This is the only thing that doesn’t check out. The dealer, which is a ford dealer, told me they had it inspected by Mercedes. After looking at some information on the dealer website I noticed next to the carfax info it had a folder that had more info on the car. There was a file in there that said it was inspected by ford not by Mercedes. I’m having to drive a long way to look at this car so should they go get it checked out at Mercedes instead? I’m assuming Mercedes knows more about these cars than ford does.
Thanks guys

Check that recalls have been done and if the spark plugs were changed at 60000 miles. My 2013 C350 Coupe has been flawless since new, other than recall and navigation updates being done

The 60000 mile service has recently been done by Mercedes, but specifics on what was done isn’t listed. The ford dealer who currently has it replaced the windshield, flakey keyless entry on driver side, and replaced a left strut(someone probably hit a bad pothole). The ford dealer said it used oem replacement parts. On the carfax there is a recall that is unremedied. I’ll have to check with the dealer for their policy on replacing it.

2014 C350 Coupe, 2006 ML500
I bought my 2014 C350 coupe at around 45k miles and the only issue I had was the flakey keyless entry on the handle. Get a PPI or a pre purchase inspection before you buy it. I had the dealership send it to a merc dealer before I bought it and they found an issue where the heat shielding was loose underneath the car. Just ask them to get a PPI and tell them if nothing is wrong you'll pay for it but if there is anything wrong they pay for it. Always worked for me.
