C250 ECU Replacement
Info:
I've recently taken my 2014 c250 to a local euro shop ( in US ) due to the car shaking/vibrating when turned on and CEL. They've found a leak in my intake airpipe which was repaired but the car still has problems vibrating badly but not as much. After repairs they had found the my Cylinder 4 is not firing, they performed a compression and electrical test and found the ECU to be causing problems. As far as other tests, they said they checked all wiring but found no corroded or damaged wiring, swapped cools/plugs and only found that Cyl #4 is still the issue and is not receiving any communication. I've driven it back to my apartment but it is running choppy and on only 3 cylinders.
I've been quoted $2,500 by the euro shop to replace/program the ECU and another shop quoted $2,500 - $5,000 but I've got to drive to them to diagnose for correct quote. Currently waiting a call back from local MB dealer. Over the past 3 years of owning the car I've had multiple problems and this will be my last one as I want to trade/sell it.
Questions:
Should I take it to another euro shop to get a 2nd opinion and even then repair if it is the correct diagnosis?
Or should I just sell/trade it outright to a local dealership as it is and not touch it.
Has anyone else experienced this and or have any tips/solutions

CEL code shows p0304
mine also have a problem but the ECU can be fixed for less than $500 labour, some shop at my countries even cost less than $400 to fix the ECU but better find the better mechanics for second opinion. If the ECU can't be fixed anymore then you need to buy another ECU, but it doesn't have to be a brand new one, as long as you can find capable mechanic that can do the programming for you and the used condition still working normally

@kotoboofer - sorry to hear about your c250 troubles..
question when they pulled the spark plugs and coils, did they notice any oil on the spark plug on cyl 4 when they pulled it?
There are individual gaskets that go around each coil/plug on the valve cover that could have failed causing the misfire.
Did they try swapping coils from one cylinder to another to ensure it’s not a bad coil? Did they use OEM coils? Or cheapy parts store ones? I’ve had electrical components fail out of the box before so not uncommon.
just trying to walk through diagnosis as I love my c250 and hate to hear when other have these kinds of problems.
you don’t see or notice any loose connectors or chewed wires from mice ?
