Misfiring on idle and drive
I recently had the gaskets replaced on my vehicle. Prior to this work, the car was running fine, other than the engine sounding a bit loud (even prior to the listed changes), or not normal as I know the car to sound. The mechanic had previously, mid-year, changed the coolant pipes and used the same gaskets, which he had advised was fine. I wasn't comfortable with this and had new ones fitted in December. During the job, the mechanic also replaced the banjo bolt after I had noticed traces of oil inside the manifold, which had initially been overlooked (during the coolant pipes change). Since these changes, the car has started misfiring both at idle and while driving.
It feels like every time I replace something, another issue suddenly appears, which seems highly unlikely given the way I drive and maintain my vehicle.
Has anyone experienced something similar, and could you recommend a reliable, trustworthy mechanic, in South Africa, Johannesburg, who can properly diagnose and resolve this?
Thank you
