Sport Suspension

I am wondering if anyone here used to own a CLK320.

My friend is getting a new C Coupe and has to decide on the sport suspension. He absolutely loves the ride characteristics of my CLK320. Does anyone know if the ride is the CLK is closer to the regular or sport suspension of the C Coupe?

It's probably very different, clk is a more softer ride while the c300 is just firm. And at times when you go over things it feels solid.

How about the regular suspension? i personally think that the ride of my CLK320 is solid enough, More important, my friend likes it and he is hoping to get a MB with similar ride.

The ride of the c class sport suspension is going to be stiff compared to the clk. Would go for the base suspension

It is hard to tell in a 15 minutes test drive. It would be great if they give you the car for one day or so.

Base suspension

I have the base suspension. The ride is smooth on rough roads. The cars hugs corners very well on sharp turns. The Sport suspension is a harsh ride on bumpy roads. The run flat tires on the Sport suspension are more thinner side wall making a very hard ride and easer to rip sidewall tires and damage wheels. I would go with base suspension.

Before I order, I will certainly test drive both versions. Try a last ditch effort to decide. Like I said, hard to decide in a 15 minutes test drive, road conditions, tire size, and my mood!

You guys are probably right. If I like the ride of a CLK320, the sport suspension is probably too harsh. While not particularly sporty, the ride of the CLK is just perfect for me.

On top of this, the runflats are brand new territory for me. I never own a car with runflats.

I used to have a CLK320 and the ride of any new C-Class coupe (even the base suspension) will be much more harsh than the CLK. Taking the runflat tires off and putting regular tires on will be the best thing you can do to improve ride comfort, but then you'll be driving around without a spare tire.

In Canada and for 2018, there is no more option for suspension ( no sport, no airmatic). Standard suspension is now called Lower Comfort Suspension with code 677.
