squealing noise while driving

Hello guys ..

this is my first post on this forum and im sorry its about a problem with my c300 coupe i have owned this car for about 6 months now and its around 11k and since two weeks i have been hearing a squealing noise and its making me crazy like driving an old car the sound comes when driving my car around speed 10 - 90 Km it also comes when turning the steering wheel slight left or right and it comes without applying any brakes i have posted a video on youtube and the link is bellow also i took the car to my local dealer and stayed for two days and they told me the issue is fixed and all good and they told me that the noise is due to me washing the wheels incorrectly and the grease on the pads are gone and they re greased it after one week using the car the sound is back also i noticed the sound comes when i have been driving the car for a while like half an hour or 20 minutes

can some point out what is causing this noise

I just kit 11,000 kms and I'm getting the exact same thing - I mostly hear it when slowly turning right.

its frustrating actually ...
my theory is that the sound is coming from one of the front disk rotors and when the rotor is hot it scratches the rotor protector or cover and producing the squeal sound ..

hope to find a solution for it

Exact same issue, started at 10,000 miles.

Sometimes its constant when in traffic and driving in a straight line, other times when going round corner.

dealer couldn't find anything.

its going back in for service soon, won't be picking up till it's fixed.

I had an issue with my airmatic collapsing at the front end, don't know if it's related

very disappointed with mercedes.

sounds to me MB should do a recall check on this issue .
my locale dealer is insisting that its somthing related to the breaking system eather the pads or rotors im also near my 15k service and will not pik up my car till this issue is fixed.

regarding your issue with the airmatic i dont think its related to the squealing noise due to its coming while the tyer is rotating and also the squeal is not consistent.

kindly keep this post updated if you find a solution for this issue

Cheers, also disappointed with MB.

Discs / Pads replaced at 3,000 miles under warranty

Airmatic Fail at 7,000

Electrical issues at 11,000

this issue now

Whats next ?

not what I expect for £43,000

VW Passat from 10.000 to 80,000 seen less time at the dealership

Wow serious issues.
did you know why your dealer replaced your pads ?
because my dealer said to me that my pads need to be replaced on warranty when i reached 11000 kms

Update..

just received my car from my local dealer. They changed the front pads under warranty and before i got home the squealing sound is back same as before and what is frustrating is that there is a new screeching sound when breaking and almost when the car stops this is the same as the breaking MB GLC issue that every one is talking about ..

now im afraid if i take it back they will do something worse with it

So my car is in the shop right now - they are dealing with this via a bulletin that directs them to apply some kind of grease to the suspension components in the front. I'll post the details from my invoice when I get it back.

Hope they solve the issue for you...
Kindly update us what happens with you ...

Seems my locale dealer does not know what is causing this squealing and just randomly changing the breaking parts in my car till the issue is solved

Hey guys,

First time post as well over here. I'm having the exact same problem. Already took it to the dealer and they've replaced the brake pads and applied some kind of grease as well as mentioned above in another post.

At first it completely eliminated the noise, however two days later the same noise came back.

I'll be taking it back to the dealer next week and report back

The grease / lubricant did not fix the issue. I'll be taking it back (again).

So what I've changed/applied so far are :
1- pads ( under warranty )
2- discs ( under warranty )
3- front left tire (paid for it due to other cause)
4- applied their new lubricant ( under warranty )

All the above fixes didn't work ..
I'm out of ideas on what is causing this sound

My dealer just informed me that they've escalated the issue all the way to their peers in Germany.

Apparently they're going to check if someone else has had the same issue globally.

Same issue here as well. Mine is around 4K kms only. Sound comes on after driving for 20 mins or so. And it squeeks more when turning right.

The dealer suggested that it is the break pad touching the rotor while driving. But lets see if their solutions helps. Going to be taking the car in next week.

Unfortunately in time the sound will come more frequently also driving straight or turning the steering wheel ether right or left .

Still didn't find a solution for it and almost changed all the breaking parts except the calibers and still the sound exits .

Kindly keep this post updated if you find a solution fir it.

So last week I got my car back from the dealer. They changed the dics and brake pads (second time for the pads) and so far so good, the sound hasn't come back.

However this tuesday I got an email regarding a recall of a fuse that is related to the engine startup. I'm writing this from the dealer as I wait, apparently it's a quick fix

The sound is back! This is unbelievable!

Between my last post and today the dealer has changed under warranty:
  1. Both front calipers
  2. Both front rotors
  3. Front pads.
And yet, the sound is back. I called the dealer and their answer was that they needed the car for ONE week to do some “tests” which is excessive in my opinion.

Also, my rear pads had to be changed. (The car has 8,700miles/14,000kms). I’m thinking that not even going to track days the pads can wear out so fast imo.

All I want to do at this stage is literally sell the car and get a BMW or Audi.

sorry to hear that bro but my dealer actually managed to solve my issue believe it or not it was the rear break pads !!
So they changed them and the sond is gone ..

so that was the solution for the squealing noise that my car makes ..

hope you get it fixed.
