New C300 convertible - Service A overdue???
I was looking at a C300 convertible (2017) the other day and when test driving the one they had on the lot (exactly with the options I want and listed for a good price) I was thinking of making an offer but then noticed that when you start the car it says Service A overdue - 48 days.
I also checked the date in the car and it says the date is April 2010 or something like that.
Dealer told me that it just needs to have the computer reset but of course I do not believe him. I wonder if it has a defective computer.
The car had 38 miles on it (well before my test drive that is)
I am interested but I don't want to start negotiating if this car is defective.

It’s probably that they have had the vehicle over a year and that it has triggered the service A needing to be done. With newer Mercedes, the Service is due once every year or every 10K miles, so with it being a 2017 its more than likely just that. No defect.

There are some very good deals on 2017 cars right now so just wanted to make sure it is not a huge red flag.
