The C300C takes rock hits horribly, I'm assuming this is due to the angle of the windshield. My 2015 CLA250 got hit by rocks many times and the windshield never chipped. I had my C300 less than 24 hours and it already has a rock chip in the windshield 😞
Anyone have a windshield film on their vehicle to protect it from rocks? If so, what brand do you have? I've seen some mentioned on Jeep forums.
That's just bad luck unfortunately. Happened to me with my 2016 E350 - got a big rock chip first week of ownership. I just got a 2019 C300C and the only thing I'm dealing with is juddering wipers.
I'd recommend getting the most comprehensive windshield insurance possible - I have Amica and zero deductible insurance. If there's a rock chip in your field of vision that has the possibility of expanding - they'll replace it for free $0 deductible - OEM original glass.
Here in GA the GADOT sucks at cleaning up the interstate and there's trash all over the place - it's a must. Been through 3 windshields in the past 2 years across my wife's SLK and my car.
I have ClearPlex installed on my 2018 AMG C43 Coupe . Purchased the C43 in April 2018 and got the film installed a month later in May 2018 .
Best investment - worth every penny and will get another application installed once this one is ready to be replaced! Windshield is brand new under film and has saved me numerous times with rocks hitting it.
Before I got the C43 I had a 2017 C300 Coupe was a year and a half old and I had probably 50-60 small chips/nicks . These W & C 205 cars seem especially fragile. My three other MB's (all W & C204s, 2011 c300 sedan, 2012 C350 coupe and 2015 C350 coupe) all had normal windshields and Zero issues with nicks/chips) so i wasn't taking any chances with my AMG!

That looks awesome. How much did that set you back? Wish I'd done that. My C300C is about 2 months old now. I think there are some very small Nick's in it. Not hardly noticable but we notice everything on our new car!

Only cost $100, as it was my installer's first time dealing with ClearPlex .It was a flawless installation. If you are from NJ, DE or eastern PA, my guy is the best for tint/clearplex.
I also got it done to my new 2017 Z06, perfect as well! Well worth the investment.

It is worth the $375 in my opinion - it's just not the same without an OEM windshield. I'm going on 7 months with mine and it still is like new. As long as you wax it periodically (make sure you get a bottle or two from your installer) and keep it clean (clean off bug guts, etc - then you will be good for over a year plus!
After speaking with the owners of two companies locally, I’ve decided against the ClearPlex. Both companies have ceased to do ClearPlex applications because, “The product was not living up to it’s said standards and as not lasting a full year without “going bad” and also, removal was awful, the product would chip and leave a film on the windshield that was extremely hard to remove.” Keep in mind I’m in Louisiana where it is very hot and humid, maybe have something to do with it...
Honestly sometimes I wonder whether it’s a brittle windshield or if there’s just not proper care for highways, trash and debris are all over the place here in the Atlanta metro for example. I’ve had SUVs, sedans, roadsters and coupes here and they’re all susceptible to debris, gone through multiple windshields no matter the angle. Never had this problem up north.
