My electric power steering is faulty but currently still drives and steers ‘okay’.
The ‘electric power steering malfunction’ warning appeared out of the blue (no erratic driving, driving through bad weather or terrain). The steering wheel began to vibrate and a low humming noise became apparent and is always present when I start my car.
I have 3 fault code which I will try to attach to this thread.
1) Does anyone know what I can do to remedy this?
2) Has anyone experienced this before and has some insight into what I can do about it besides the obvious of taking it to a garage?
3) Can I still drive the car at the moment or will the steering completely fail/lock entirely etc. if i continue to drive the car? (I only ask as I am in the military and if i can, I need to drive 5 hours home and then 6 hours to another place.)
