Creaking noise from dashboard
Hey everyone,
I got an 2018 convertible and i'm getting some creaking and squeaking noises from the dashboard area, right below the windshield (possibly from the air vent panel?).
I’ve tried using plastic wedges and silicone spray, but it didn’t make any difference.
I’ve seen a few others mention similar issues, but I haven’t found a real fix yet.
Anyone managed to solve this?

That's a really common and annoying issue. The creaking is usually the plastic dashboard trim rubbing against the windshield.
Silicone spray often doesn't work because it can't get deep into the clips. The real fix is to carefully remove the long trim piece that runs along the base of the windshield. Then, wrap its plastic clips with Teflon tape or felt tape before reinstalling it. This cushions the contact points and stops the noise.

it tried to figure out were it could come from but the dashboard ends up before the windshield. There remains an littke gap.By the convertible i can't find another plastic trim weich can be removed.

Creaking stops after replacing windscreen
