I thought I saw a DIY on mercedesshop.com that comes pretty close to it.

My 97's front brakes are exactly like my 98 BMW 528i and my prior 97 Range Rover. You need a metric allen wrench, a pair of pliers, a pair of needle nose pliers and a few different sized screwdrivers.
On the back side of the calliper there are two plactic tubes with plastic caps on them. Pull the plastic caps off and use the correct size allen wrench to unscrew the part that holds the pads to the calliper. That was the only tricky part the first time I changed this type of brake pad.
good luck.

Benzmeister, aka Al
As far as the front pads. On my 99 C280, if was easy to replace them, release the clips and lift them out. You might have to open the bleeder valve to compress the piston, but there are piston compression tools out there, but open the valve and letting a bit of fluid escape is better to compress. Make sure you top off the brake fluid ONLY WITH MERCEDES BENZ BRAKE FLUID. I learned a very expensive lesson with aftermarket fluids.
