Question check engine light on

I have a 1995 C280 and the check engine light is on, I took it to autozone and they said there reader only works on 96 and newer, is there any other way to run the code without the stealer's prices??? Please let me know, also can I reset the light myself without the stealer?

How is the car acting since the light came on? I think Autozone gave you correct information. I thought there was an OBD1 tool for older cars and OBDII
for 1997-current cars (and some 1996 s). I'd check ebay or some place for the older scan tool.

I actually just went to another autozone and they could do it, the 1995 C280 is OBDII not OBD I. It came back with the code P1700 some uplift valve for the tranny.

Glad you found out what is wrong. I guess Mercedes is ahead of its time in 1995.
