It's a tough call. I think the C230k has the advantage (on paper) but real world results say it's a tie.
The C230K is cheaper to mod. Are you looking to buy one?

2000 C280 Sport (W202)
The C230 is "faster" on paper like sportster said, and yes it is cheaper to mod...but when you mod a C280 you will get better hp & tq out of performance chips, pulley kits, exhaust etc...and i can say that i have raced against my buddys 2000 C230 completely stock, all i had done at the time was my powerchip and intake and i beat him by at at least a car length...tough call though, your choice
