I just lowered my C230 with H&R springs. These springs are nice because the ride is still pretty soft, even with 40 series tires on 18 inch rims.

I think the sport springs can bring it down about 1.75" - 2.0" and the race
springs to 2.5"

Also, pick up some spring pads just in case you want to play with the height
a little.

I have them on my ride (sport) with 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear. I
had to replace the front pads with the next size up from the smallest size due
to too many bad dips in the roads and the tire just clipped the arch.

Mine is lowered 2 inches with Carlsson springs and Bilstein sport shocks. I have rubbed off most of the paint on the inside of my fender. All well, chicks dig it.

Someone told me tirerack has a professional tool to bend the inside up a little.
You know anything about this? I may just change the pads to add a 1/4" to
mine.

H&R and Bilstein sport shocks for a ride that's low, but still comfortable. No gap (less than a finger) between fender and tire, yet minimal to no rubbing. (this is with 18" wheels & 225/45/18 tires) I've ridden Eibachs too, I think they feel a bit softer and don't lower the car as much. Also, go with #1 pads if you want your car a few mm lower.

expect premature tire wear with no finger gap. The camber kit is nearly 700 dollars with shipping.

I'm not so sure about that. I had my camber measured after I lowered my car and its negative, but at a safe level. It's not perfect (zero camber) but then again, neither is the camber of any stock W202.

p.s.- and yes there may be some irregular tire wear, but with 18" rims and high performance tires, wear will occur quickly anyway... especially the way I drive .

lowered my c280.
not sure how much it was lowered but got it certed and the measurements are.
250mm from the center of the rear wheel to the top guard.
310mm from the center of the front wheel to the top of the guard
must be about 2.5-3 inches? drop
bad camber now tho, had to modify inside my guards, mainly removed the plastic guards. 18" 40 series tires.
if u go fast round corners your tire wear will be even :-)

Cup kit is way too low and harsh. Sport springs are much better for everyday driving.
