95 C220 Air Conditioner Cycling

Hi,

The AC in my C220 cycles between AC and EC. This happens at different intervals. When its on, the air is cold and working properly. I also noticed that when the AC is on, from stopping, a squeak emits from the engine compartment when accelerating in first gear. This squeak goes away shortly thereafter. I had thought it may be the Serp Belt needing some tightening but my mechanic checked it out and said the belt has the proper tension. My mechanic suggested I take it to a dealer to get diagnostics run and then he could fix it for me.

I took the car into the dealer and they said the AC Compressor was coming apart. They recommended the following:

Replace Compressor, Drier, Manifold hose, Exhaust Valve and flush the system. Of course the cost was out of this world.

My mechanic replaced the Compressor, Drier and Controller Switch(?). Results are the same...the AC cycles. He has tried two compressors and gets the same results. He now thinks it may be one of the controllers and suggests I take it back to Mercedes to run some self-diganostics.

Im a bit apprehensive as to what to do from here. Should I replace the Exahust Valve and Manfiold Hose (Mechanic says they are fine)? I don't think its a leak issue because the air gets very cold when it is on. What could that squeal be when the AC is on and accelerating in First?

Any suggestions would be appreciated very much!
