engine temp

Quick question, does anyone else's w202 run a little bit hotter now that the weather is warming up? To give you an idea of where mine is at, on the engine temp gauge there is an 80 C notch, another notch and a 120 C notch followed immediatley by the red zone. My engine temp will get above the notch between the 80 and 120 notches if I'm sitting at a traffic light, or stuck in traffic. Is this normal for w202's or MB's in general?

Normal, and it'll get even hotter with the AC compressor on.
As long as it is not in the red zone, nothing to worry about.

Sweet. I guess it makes sense seeing as my 190 did the same thing. Thanks

Normal. Actually, when the A/C is on, the car tends to cool down and not heat up like suggested above.

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again. I talked to my old dealer in Midland about this and they said whereas most temp guages in most cars function like an idiot light where they'll get to a certain point and then stay there unless the car is over heating, they won't read much higher or lower than what the normal operating temperature of the vehicle is, Mercedes Temp Gauges actually tell you what the engine temp really is and that's why you'll see a lot of movement in the gauge. It's ok as long as you're not in the red.
