Question Sport Shocks with stock ride height?

Any problems with running sport shocks on a non-sport C230 ('97)? I'd like to buy the stiffer shock but don't want to lower the car (yet).

If I lower the car later (1-1.5"), will this require a different shock?

Thanks in advance.... Paul

Why don't you get the HD shocks which is same as Sport except about 1"-1.5" longer. The Sport is shorter because its uses with the Sport Springs.

There's HD's are actually the OE shocks on the Mercedes, the Sports are different and I think, I don't know for a stone cold fact, that there are OE Sport and Regular Bilstein Sport shock (these have the shorter travel for aftermarket sport springs).

I don't think so. I could see the stock C Class shocks being Bilstein Touring, Boge, Sachs, etc but I doubt that your average C220/C280 came with Bilstein HDs from the factory.

Stock shocks on Mercedes C-class W202's are Bilstiens, NOT BOGE or SACHS. As for them being HD setting, every site I've been to about replacing the OEM shocks on Mercedes has the "HD" setting as OEM or Sport for the Sport models. I put these (HD's) on my 1995 C 280 and they rode the same as stock shocks.
