tinting windows
i have 99 c230k
my buddy got me a good deal for tinting windows
im geting 5% in for the back three
and i was wondering what percent would be good on the front two
(ie not to heaty with the cops but will look good instead of just totally clear)
i also noticed some ppl have problems with the tint scratching with an MB car. do you guys know if i will have that problem or not? (or is that only with the platnium tint??)

eh, anything else on a car that has 5% in back doesn't look right. trust me. I had 5% in all back windows and first tinted 35%. After a while it didn't look right to me and I took it off. Then i tried 20% in front and it looked pretty nice, but after a while it didn't look right again. So at the end, I ripped it off and slapped on 5% in front. Now it looks right. haha

just my thought, never tint your windows, it is too dangerous if the tint is too dark, you will not see anything in the back when backing up. I have a friend who tinted too dark and hit the light pole twice when backing up at night. Instead of fixing the tinted window, he install two very powerful fog lights on the rear bumper. the lights will turn on when gear into reverse. but still why do you want to do that? unless you need to do something in your back seat at night..... ha ha ha.

ihave 5% back and 35% front.. its hard to see at nite wen backing up and there is no light outside, but its should be fine. and mine scratches. cus on MB cars the rubber trim on the windows are too tight so i scratches it.. u can either...
1. not open ur windows
2. have a good shop cut out parts of the rubber and put soft felt over it so it doesnt scratch the tint

oh yeah, parallel parking at night is kinda difficult. You're gonna have to roll down your windows to see your mirrors and plus it's dangerous because i can hardly ever see people crossing the street until they're in the view of the windsield. So far I haven't had any scratches in the two front windows, but there are a lot of vertical scratches in the rear.
