1997 mercedes c280 sport
red/black (sexy as hell)
sport pckg
bose stereo
power seats
teles. wheel
cellular (useless, i know)
power moonroof
power mirrors
alarm
101,000 miles
clean title, 2 owner car. (lease, and then cpo purchase)
...i dont think i am leaving any options out...
what would you say i should pay for it? he's asking 9500... i was thinking of offering 8k.
i have edmunds, kbb, and nada (consumer) pricing reports; and of course- they're all over the board.
PPI was done today at a local shop i trust; everything checked out perfect, car was in great shape and cared for well.
the only 2 problems were a bit of rust on the exhaust firewall (which i will prolly end up replacing with a remus or something later) and the exterior needed a detail (too much wax residue, so at least the car wasn't neglected.)
so... what price SHOULD this car be going for?

oh, i'm a bmw guy (so i dont know too much about the benz market) and this is for the wifey, so i'm not worried about lots of speed (but i did check for some amg models in the area )

we negotiated the agreed sales price to $9000 today.
he just spent a couple grand on brakes, new plugs and wires and hoses and a pretty thourough tune-up.
(i think he got taken a bit... that price is rediculous for most of the work... but he has been dealer servicing the vehicle forever)...
so, i'm pretty happy about it. the car is in better shape than any other 9 year old car i have ever seen.
...so i guess you guys should welcome me to the party, officially

I'm not a fan of red mercedes (well, I'm not fan of beige, mine, either) but the black leather interior is very tight. wish I had black interior.

C280, '97, experience.
Bought new, '97 C280 Sport. 150+ k miles. New tires, plugs, cabin filter and always change O/F every 5 k miles. Never a problem, ever. Advice; never spit into the wind, tough on Superman's cape or have your car serviced at a dealer (Fort Knox time). They don't take TLC of your ride.
