info on c230 kompressor

i was thinking of buying a C230. I don't know much about them. there is a 1998 in town. I was wondering about fuel milage, common problems, ECT. I was also looking at a 2000 C230 Kompressor and was wondering the same info on it. Is there a big differance between the two. Any help would be appreciated

I have a 98 C230. She has 40k on her, and I picked her up with 23k from a guy whose wife never drove it. I have only had 2 problems with her, the MAF had to be replaced and something with the fuel system (I do not exactly remember what it was, but perhaps it was the o2 sensory). The mpg depends on the way you drive of course. If I drive the speed limit 65-75, 28-31 is pretty common with climate control on and radio, using cruise control. Normally, I do not use cruise control and avg around 95-100mph, that tends to drop mpg to 25-27 hw. In the city, its about 22-25mpg. This is just what I have experienced. Shes very stable, and acceleration is quite good for an inline 4. It is a bit weak over 110mph. I like the way she handles, and have really had no complaints. The engine is quiet and it is easy to speed in these cars without knowing it. I have not driven a Kompressor model so I cant speak on those. Just my experiences for what its worth.

The performance increase you'll get from a C 230K is worth whatever decrease in MPG it has as opposed to the regular C 230.
