NEW Mercedes WHITE STAR Flat Badge for W202 hoods!

One can swap between the WHITE STAR Flat Badge or the OEM star in seconds… Install the traditional star for formal occasions, and substitute the WHITE STAR Flat Badge for a sporty, everyday silhouette.
I make these badges in my machine shop, mostly on the weekends. After disassembling the OEM star, I machine the socket required to accommodate a legacy White Star insert I created myself. I cement this insert in place, then cast a tan plug, which holds the mount lock in place, and reassemble everything.
As a result, the WHITE STAR Flat Badge is a hand-made, limited production item. Each one is signed and serial numbered, and comes with a matching certificate of authenticity, carrying the same serial number. There are a handful of these currently in circulation in the US. I plan to make these only as long as there is demand.
If you've kept your W202 until now, and have played with a flat hood badge, you've probably had your fill of the only option -- the plastic SLK Badge that fades in the sun. The WHITE STAR Flat Badge is all metal, and sits within the divot (like the OEM star), so it is more flush with the hood.
So you now have the WHITE STAR Flat Badge to consider as a unique alternative.

To keep your WHITE STAR Flat Badge nice and shiny white, a handful of members have written me to recommend the following products. You may already have these mag wheel cleaners in your car wash kit. A tin is about $4-$5 at your local auto store.
The Mothers product works especially well. Just put a dollup on the white star inlays, let sit for a couple minutes then wipe off. Minimal rubbing needed.
Minimize contact with the blue laurel wreath areas… these are in blue LACQUER, so the cleaners should not mar them. But I’d steer clear just to be sure.
I’ve been testing to find the right products, but thanks to members for these leads. Of course, this only applies to the few of you with Badges showing any wear... the vast majority are seeing none...
