inexpensive upgrades...
hey guys! what are some cheap modifications i can do to my 97 C280 to increase horsepower? i know some of you recommend k&n drop in air filters, but what else is out there that is not too expensive. trying to stay around $250-$300.

for $400 and 15HP, it is cheap but can you actually feel the difference? I doubt it! As I remember that C280 produce slightly less than 200HP, 15HP gain really does not make any difference. If you have a 100HP engine, 15HP increased is noticable. But for 200HP engine, at least additional 50HP in order for driver to feel the difference.
By the way, 15HP was claimed by the chip shop, are they realiable? has anyone test 0-60 after chip mods?
I will save the money and spend around $5000 to swap either an used C36 or C43 engine. It will make HUGE difference!

u know what i just ordered an hks super mega flow intake system for my c280. im doing it at f1 motorsports and they do this all the time. i also researched this intake and found out it gives about 10-15 additional hp. this is good considering its only costing me $300.
the stock hp is 195 which means that if u increase ur car by 10-15 hp u are giving the car 5%-7.5% extra increase. again for a simple $300 intake thats pretty good! what do you guys think?
do u guys have any other suggestion as to how we can increase hp on a c-class benz? by by the way how much is a mosselman turbo for a benz?
