noise form engine, transmission and suspension, help!

noise form engine, transmission and suspension, help!
My 1995 c220 has been having this strange niose coming from the engine for a couple of weeks now, it is kind of a rattle that sound only at low rpms whe I hit the gas or relase it ONLY. I'm wondering if it is the timming chain, if so, how hard is it to replace it myself ? I have done this before in my 1980 w123 c280, but I just bought this car so I don't really know if it is the same. By the way te power is all there there is no hesitation or lack of power
Also when in Neutral and shifting to D, if I dont press the brake it make a noise and jumps as if there was a freeplay, has anypne had the same problem? what could it be?
The third and last problem it has is a loud noise comming from the front suspension when I hit the brakes going in reverse and only in reverse, when I'm going forward there are no noises at all. I have checked the wheels and they are firm and there does not seem to be anything loose at first sigth
