'99 w202 power seat wiring and seat cleaning
i have a '99 w202 with manual seats. i am considering buying a set of leather power seats complete with door panels and switches. my question is, is the wiring already going to be in the door and under the seat? will i be able to just plug everything in and add a fuse? or will i have to do the wiring myself?
also, the seats i want to buy were from a smoker's car and therefore smell like smoke. what is the best way to clean leather seats to rid them of the smell.
thanks for your help.
cheers,
greg

I don't know about the wiring, but some models are already pre-wired for options like such. For instance, for models that do not have CD players, they have prewired settings in the trunk.
I don't think that helped much.
But since you're buying smoker seats, my thing is to have them waxed before they're put in or after they're put in. Maybe invest in an air freshener and put it under the seat. Or an easy trick, spray the car down with febreze or some odor killing solution and let it air out with the windows either cracked or open.
Hope this was somewhat useful.

i have the seats out of the car, so i'll try both waxing and the fabreze. i used leather cleaner on them and have had a fan blowing on them for a week in a room with the window open. now the room and the seats smell like cigarettes. ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
