Another Transmission Question...

my tranny feels like it is slipping a little on downshifts... upshifts are fine... no noise or harsh shifting either... smooth when shifted to/from reverse and to/from drive... this has happened in S mode... have not tried in W mode to see if its the programming. It kind of feels like it just doesnt know what to do... I hope that makes sense.

Car has 64k miles

Questions are:

1. Can bad motor mounts make a tranny not perform as it should, and would it feel like slipping? My car shakes a little when shut off, like the mounts could be bad.

2. If I am low on fluid (just serviced 10k miles ago) where would it be going? I have zero leaks on my garage floor and there is no tranny fluid in my coolant (thinking from the cooler it might mix).

3. The dealer replaced the connector on the tranny with the updated version... could it be leaking on to the computer and causing this behavior? If so, is it enclosed so I would see no leaks outside the car?

I hope someone can help me... I am afraid its the tranny going... but the tranny is strong...

Nevermind... I drove it after resetting the tranny for longer than 2 minutes and it seems to have fixed it... I am still having it looked at... I'll post results.

At 56k miles your transmission should be fine. I would check the motor mounts, if you had your transmission serviced 10k miles ago everything should be fine there assuming it was done correctly with proper parts and fluids.

Yeah I would think so... the dealer did the service... I will be verifying with them on monday... I am still not driving it for any long periods until I get it checked to be safe.

- Get in and shut the door
- Turn key to position II (DO NOT START THE CAR!!)
- Press the accelerator pedal to the floor till you have pressed the kick-down switch and hold for 15 seconds.
- Turn key to 0 and leave it in the ignition
- Release accelerator pedal
- Don't touch any buttons or open the door for at least 2 minutes
- After 2 minutes start the car and drive as normal for at least 40 shifts of the transmission.
