Windshield Wiper Combination Switch
It controls:
The intermittent wiper.
Rear defrost.
Turn Signals, &
Hazard Lights.
Less than $50 on FastLane; $144 @ dealer! The relay is under a panel (6 screws) just behind the main fuse panel in the engine compartment.
"The problem is the Combination Relay, which is located under the black panel (6 screws) just to the rear of the main fuse panel in the engine bay.
This relay controls the intermittent wipers, turn signals, and rear defrost.
Prior to replacement of this relay on my 95 C280, I had the following symptoms:
1. Turn signal flash is irregular, or not operating at all.
2. Intermittent wipers worked totally randomly.
3. Flashing LED in rear defrost rocker switch when rear defrost was engaged.
The part number is: 201 821 02 47.
Good luck! The part is about $50, and is cheapest in FastLane."

Pretty much the same as everybody else on the list.. just over all upshift is rough.. not a smooth transition from one gear to the next regardless of accelaration condtion(hard, regular, etc) ...sometimes it does feel like I kick in the back.
I've also noticed that if I am braking slowly, right before I come to a complete stop the RPMs will dip below 500 and/or bounce up past 1000. I would think this is the MAS but I've had it checked out. I think the problems are all related somehow. None of the dummy lights are showing a problem. No Check Engine, etc. So I'm at a loss.
The fluid level checks out okay on the A/T.
Yes, it's true. I'm back in Florida. Working on a software job for a State Agency. Maybe I'll back in Colorado by the end of July. I setup shop in Florida(again) back at the end of September.

There is one other thing. Just about a week ago (before I replaced the relay), I noticed that my left turn signal indicator on the dashboard goes into hyperdrive mode when turned on (i.e. blinks really fast) vs. the right turn signal indicator, which blinks normally. I assumed replacing the relay would fix this problem but it hasn't. What is the cause of this abnormality and can it be fixed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
First of all, I think you have the wrong part. This could be why your turn signal is on crack. I wouldn't just throw away your old relay. All it should take is some soldering. There aren't any moving parts or anything like that. Try putting the old relay in and tapping on it to see if it works. Let us know what happens. ~Doug
Hopefully I'll remember that someday when I need it! Otherwise I'll just needlessly spend $150.
