Hi,
Couple of weeks ago my car (has 101k miles) started to shake at a light. I turned off and restarted and the vibration was gone.
Today it happened again. It started to shake also when stopped and when driving. It shakes stronger when stopped and in D or R. In Parking and Neutral it shakes slower. Also the RPM in Parking is around 7-800 and in D and R is 500-550. I drove 2 or 3 miles and the shaking was still persisting.
I had the idea to disconnect the battery. After that the engine was running fine. The shaking disappeared.
I read almost all topics regarding SHAKING on this forum and i haven't found an electronic cause so far. Could it be because of the Central Unit? Maybe a sensor is sending wrong data and the ECU recalculates all parameters.
I don't think it's a mechanical problem because the problem persisted until I disconnected the battery.
What do you think?
Thanks

Hey there.
Check your engine mount if you've never replaced it. My old '94 C280 had the shakes in D and R at around 140k, and turned out the engine mount needed replacing. After that, it was all good!
Then my gearbox started to give me awkward shifts, so I traded her in for 2000 C240![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Get your mechanic to check out the engine mount
