Wishbone snapped! Normal?
Just had a scary moment, While pulling into a service station after hitting a speed bump at around 60kph and before a 160kph+ run, the wishbone just collapsed. I've seen cases of the w124/w201 ball joint collapsing before but never an actual wishbone shearing like this. W.T.F.! Is this a w202 fault that merc should be requested to remedy?
Has anyone seen this before?

I suppose that's why the limit is 120 Km/h on the main motorways, no?
As far as your particular failure is concerned, without some information or documentation about the service history of the car, the nature of the "break" and other facts, it would be hard to fault either Mercedes or those that do the work on your car. Hitting a "speed bump" at 60 Km/h sounds rather severe. Could it be that the impact with the bump stressed the member?
