paint peeling off

paint peeling off

the paint on the driver side window frame of my c280 started to peel off, and im afraid that it might start to rust. im talking abt the vertical part of the window frame, and i can see the paint peeling off from the edges!! do u guys have any idea or experience like this?? should i use touch up paints or go to a body shop?? whats the warranty on body paint anyways?? cos this is not due to rocks or debris hitting my car, it just simply started peeling off.

I believe the warranty is only for corrosion and not paint?
I would say the body shop is the best option. I had my 220 rear wheel arch scraped and my local (non-dealer) body shop only charged me £75 and also touched up a few stone chips at the same time.

depending on the age of the car (<2 years) it's worth a try at the MB dealer to ask for their opinion. Peeling paint not caused by damages is not "normal", and there is the possibility of a manufacturing failure (cleansing of the surface before the paint job) The other option is if the car had preowners and they may have had a body job done not properly, then of corse it's bad luck, and then touch up wont do, since you dont know where the source of the trouble is located w/o taking the window and the window sealing out of the frame.

i managed to took some pics of it, any1 have this problem?? my car is a 96, and i notice that this startes from the edges. this happens only on the driver's door though. any ideas of what caused this???

The paint on my rims peeled off..think i can get the dealer to replace them?

I've never seen anybody else's C class do that. I think it was a factory defect.

Everyone's paint comes off their wheels. That's why you get new aftermarket ones.
