My C280 Whistles! Why? - MBWorld.org Forums

Sometimes, particularly in cold weather and also after long road trips, my car whistles. It only happens when the HVAC system is on, and when I am taking a turn. Has this happened to anyone else's car? If so, what's the fix? Is it related to the steering, or the HVAC system?

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.

The

a/c puts an extra load on the engine and the belt slips on the power steering while under load turning.Most likely you need to replace the belt or have it's tension checked.You can get a can of belt dressing at any auto store and spray the belt(keep hands clear if running)the sound goes away you have located the problem.If the belt is good you adjust it with the Belt Tensioner Adjustment Rod.
