Center and Side Blowers
Hi Guys,
This is my first post, hope you can help:
The center blowers and side blowers have very little air coming out of them, even on MAX, they make a lot of noise but nothing much coming out. I drive a 2000 W202 C180.
Has anybody come across this before, this is my first merc, is it normal?

If rfoo's suggestion doesn't help and you know the blower is still blowing strong (no bad brushes), you may need to check to see if the duct flaps are operating correctly. These are controlled pnuematically and are starting to be a problem as these cars age and the plastic gets brittle/splits. $$ repair.

A couple of things
It may be a couple of issues.
There may be nothing wrong. If the climate control is on auto, it does not blow from the front vents unlike jap cars. Took me a while to get used to. Someone told me it's german engineering and they don't want to blow air in your face
The other common problem is if you vent flaps are not working due to the failure in the vacuum system that operates the flap. No matter what position u put the blower setting in, it only blows air out of the defroster vent. There are alot of threads on how to detect this. go to club202.com.
