Red face c280 97 - missfire problem

Hi, this is my first post here after reading for months and getting some knowledge...
car: C280 1997
202.028 104.941 HFM

millage: 125K

symptom: when accelerating ( fast acceleration ) from slow speed ( about 20Mph ) engine temp: 80+, I get a back-fire sound ( sounds more behind driver's seat), the engine hesitate a bit and sometimes I get missfire cyl. 2 and 4. ( which i think is a different source of problem )

I've deleted ME errors and made a test
if it only backfires then no code is stored.
if it missfires then code is: 0300 , 0302, 0304
also get the codes:
0130 O2 PROBE ...
B1730 (invalid transponder)
P0080 Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit High (Bank 1)

I've cleaned all connectors I could see, and checked all wirings ( great condition!)

the most important information I can give here that only when I disconnect the battery and attach both +- poles for 30 sec. everything (accept SRS light) works fine under any driving condition. this holds for several driving cycles and then everything comes back again.

I've also tried to reset only the adaptation but it didn't help.

plugs looks good
one coil was replaced sometime between 100-120K

Would the MAF sensor cause this too? When I had my 2000 C280 it acted like this when trying to go and turned out to be the air sensor on the air intake.

If you have not replaced the maf unit already it sounds like you need one. Some of those codes you posted came up when I had similiar problems.
What are the condition of your O2 sensors? If they do not send a correct signal to the computer once engine is warmed up car may go into a limp mode.
One of the last codes would point to a exhaust modulator that is located in the engine compartment.
