This is an oil change, not rocket science. Have taken my C220 to Walmart plenty of times without any problem. Bring in your own
OEM filter (they give you a discount if you do) and you can get any oil they carry, under thirty bucks. Gonna be forking out at least fifty at the
stealership for exactly the same service.

Even dealerships can "screw up" an oil change. They don't have a fool proof systems. I've seen dealers strip drain bolts, overfill or forget the crush washer. DIY and shade tree mechanics are not perfect either, so you'll find pros and cons to all ways.

Nobody is perfect, but it would be stupid to say that a MB tech is not far better than a quick-lube employee.

It doesn't really matter. I bring my W202 at Shell stations for oil change and ofcourse provide an OEM oil filter. As long as you know or see that they have the right tools for your car, it's all good. Changing Oil isn't that much different from other cars, it's the same process. You drain the oil and put a new one in. It's just a matter of having the right tools.

To repeat, this is an oil change, not rocket science. The OEM filter
comes with the drain pan washer and filter gasket. Impossible to
miss. But, if you'll sleep better forking over fifty/sixty bucks to
the stealership
for the same oil, same filter, same job someone else can do for
half that, go ahead.
