Torque Converter Installation help
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this board and I joined because I recently picked up a 98 C280. When I purchased the car I was told it was a bad headgasket, turned out it was a bad motor. Cracked pistons, bearings, the whole nine. I purchased another motor and currently in the process of installing it.
I pulled the torque converter off the old motor, installing on the tranny and can't seem to get the splines to line up. It will go in barely a quarter of the way but won't seat all the way down to the notches. I turned it left, right in hopes to get the splines to line up but no avail.
Anyone have experience in this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

You just need to shake it heaps and keep turning it either way.
There should be 3 definate clicks/thuds.
I know it doesn't sound technical, there's just a knack to it.
If you have any trouble getting the transmission bolted up then the torque convertor isn't fully installed
