what would cause the a/c push button display to display broken letters and numbers? for example when the a/c is OFFor ON, the display shows the top half of the letters or numbers but cuts off the bottom half. any ideas on why this is happening?

 

It's a short in the diodes. You have to get a new unit. Hurry up and get this one.
