Need HELP ASAP!!

Hey guys I got the disc changer from Crutchfieldfor the 98 c-230. Everything works fine but I dont know where the hell to mount it? I need help with mounting it. On the left side of the trunk there is a cubby hold in which i think the disc changer goes but i cant find any pre drilled mounting holes or anything. PLEASE help me out. Thanks

Mine is mounted in the top of the trunk hanging down. If there aren't any predrilled holes, drill some yourself.

Mine is on the right side of the trunk where you have that empty compartment, installed by my dealer. Just don't know if there are any pre-drilled holes on them.

im surprised that there are not pre-drilled holes for the changer. i looked all over the place. the only thing is that i dont have anything strong enough to drill into metal. so for right now i just mounted the disc changer towards the back of the trunk on the base board. until i can find a more powerful tool or pre-drilled holes. thanks for your help guys. any other help would be appreciated.

There ARE predrilled holes for the changer. It's just that they are for a different bracket (a $50 bracket) that you're not using.

The holes are on the edge of the right side cubbyhole, on the TOP, so the screws go straight down. The bracket has a lip that goes over the edge and the screws hold it in.

You can fashion an L-shaped piece of metal or two to replace this bracket, and use the brackets that come with the changer. Or, you can drill holes in the side (I did this on my SL). Or, you can mount the CD changer with the existing brackets to the bottom of the parcel shelf (I did this on my friend's 190E, this way it's really easy to change magazines). Or, you can just let it flop around in the hole like I do on my C43... I have a roll of paper towels and an umbrella in there, so it doesn't move too much.

Well I have the real bracket... I just take the CD changer out so often that it's a lot faster. I do a lot of experimentation, you know...

I'm thinking of modifying my glove box to fit my Alpine 620S CD Changer. I'd have to cut the back out of the glove box, and it would be stuffed in there, but I am tired of having a trunk mounted unit...
