Spacers??? what are they and do I need them?
Hi well I got a 2000 c230k with new 18" barbus rims. I had a friend of mine install them and they drove fine. After about putting 600 miles on them, I took the car to my mercedes dealership to get my car allignment and balanced. As soon as they tried to get my wheels off they came into a problem. The lug nuts my friend put on in the front were too big and went straight into my wheek hub asembly. Almost all of them came out with a little force exept one which they had to drill out. The dealership didnt have the right size lugs so I took my car to a local rim shop and they gave me the correct size lugs.
-So my question is, at the mercedes dealership, they told me I need spacers for my rims as well, because they were too big and the wheels were riding on the lugs. So what are spacers and do I really need them, also the car is running fine and I def dont want to get rid of my rims. Any information would help, thanks!

spacer brings out the rim. but you need to know the correct size. i had 10mm spacer on my car to clear my bbks.

i think they also mean you need a locating spacer, this is one with a pratruding center that the rim fits onto to locate it center so the lugs arent holding all the weight,
but dont worry im not running a spacer and myne are doing fine at the moment without the locator,
