Highest mileage C280
Just curious, who here has the highest mileage C280. I'm just wondering how long my engine will last, so far I have 177K miles and no oil consumption and I use Mobil 1 since I bought it at 32K miles.
So post your mileage and any info about maintenance, oil, etc. I've heard of quite a few over 230K miles, just curious who has the longest lived one here.

2001 E55 AMG
1998 C280 Sport....206,500 miles
Bought on Ebay in 2003 with 88,000 miles on it. I took a risk, but got it for $12,400 which was well below book value. Around 98,000 I had to replace the transmission for $5,500. OUCH. The A/C compressor ceased, as I mentioned in a recent post, plus the engine mounts need replacing, plus my rear left window motor is shot. I love the car because it is so solid and "feels" so great to drive, but it has required significant capital to keep going. I'm getting ready to replace it with a 2004 or newer E55 AMG.

You are going to have a blast with the E55. After driving a little 202 around and then stepping into a E Class. WOW. Its like going from day to night. You wont ever want to go back

What's up with the C280s needing trannies so soon? I've been thinking of purchasing a 98 C280 Sport from my friend. It currently has 134K miles and the thought of replacing the tranny around 200K miles or close to it scares me from buying one...HMMM...
