Daytime running lights

Were daytime running lights (DRL's) available on the W202 C-class? There is an extra hole in the headlight assy for a wedge bulb. Is anyone using this for anything? I found some limited information leading me to believe that some of them might have had DRL's. Thanks.

Hmm, thanks! I should have known to look to Canadian models due the the fact that DRL's are required by law.
