Minor shuddering issue
Hey all,
Recently purchased a 1998 C230 with about 90,000 kms/55,000 miles (made a previous post about it).
Overall pretty happy with it, a nice change from a BMW E36. However, at 11 years old, I don't expect a perfect car.
I've noticed that when the car is stopped (at a light, in "d"), a slight shudder occasionally occurs..rpm jumps a bit and headlights seemed to momentarily fade (just noticed it this morning)..and that's basically it. Also noticing that at idle the rpm's don't stay exactly constant (very, very minuscule jumping)
Any possible causes? Potential expensive fix or..?
Thanks in advance.

It could be one of many things. On the inexpensive side, it could be as simple as a battery or alternator going bad (maybe just the voltage regulator on the alternator).

How could I check if it's the voltage regulator?
Anyone else have other suggestions?
Thanks!
