oops, that was just for 2 of the shocks. He said 30 dollars a shock, so that comes to 240 dollars. Well TP is still cheaper. If you are still trying to save money just do it yourself. That's what I did when I found out the price of getting the shocks installed and finding out how easy it was. I would let someone else do the springs though. (besides yourself) You can really screw some stuff up doing that.

Well considering the fact that my dad can install tha shocks because I just spoke with him, then all I need is the springs installed. Oh and tp, I dont know when I can send my car down.

I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. That was for the two front shocks. I keep forgetting. I think TP's place is the cheapest out there.

well actualy camber is not a need you can do wiht out it but getting it is a good option.

alignment isnt really a must either. I lowered my car almost 6 months ago and i havnt done alighmnet. and it feels fine. but again you can do it if you want.

just letting you know you dont have to spend all your money at once. you can always save up and spread the amount of spending out instead of spending 748 all at once and then you wont have any money left to buy lunch

According to Mercedes, anything dropped over an inch will need a camber kit. Even if you drop it a quarter of an inch it will affect the allignment some. Toe in is your main concern. When you drop the car the front part of the tires point toward each other. This causes the outside of the tires to scrape against the asphalt while driving. Yes it's true you don't need to get an allignment immediately. I would actually recommend waiting a month just so all the new parts can settle, but you will need one eventually. I thought my car felt fine after I lowered it but when they put it on the machine it was 1.6 degrees off spec. That's a lot. So go by what the machine says, not how it feels. Like you can feel it anyway, it's a Mercedes.

That's right. That's all it is. It's four camber adustment bolts for about 7.50 a piece from the dealer. They can anly adjust it about .4 degrees which isn't much. It is just enough so you don't kill your tires. I like a little negative camber anyway. It makes it handle like a beast around turns.

Public,

So where did you get a quote for Bilstein shocks (4) for $220? My quote from shox.com was

bilstein sport: $299
H&R sport springs: $269 (prefer H&R cause I heard lots of positive stuff on them)

shipping $22 (H&R, free for Bilstein)
tax for CA: $47

Total $637

I'm on a budget also, so the cheaper the better! When it comes down to it though, if it's a $50 difference, it's no big deal, but over $50 cheaper, that sounds good... but gotta add the shipping & tax stuff.

I like the suggestion of $7.50x4 for the cambers at the dealer though.

If you're gonna do it, do it once and do it right. I know so many people that just change springs on their cars and the next year they're riding on a bungy cord!

Either way, I gotta wait for my next payday to do this.... or... I can charge now... pay later! LOL

autowerksexpress is based in CA so there's shipping & tax.

I found on www.tirerack.com that H&R sport springs are $246 plus only $12 shipping, NO TAX (they are based in NV).

Now where to get Bilstein sports at $220 that Public posted is what I want to know. If I can get it at that price, then my C280 will be lowered as soon as it's delivered!
