spring pads?

TP,

Just curious, what are spring pads? Say if I were to get a set of H&R sport springs & Bilstein sport shocks, will I need the spring pads replaced too? Would $150 be cost for both springs & shocks since you have to take them off anyways?

thanks,

I can probably answer this for TP. You don't need to change your spring pads unless you want to adjust the height on the car.

So how much will it cost me to lower my car parts+labor? All together with spring pads.

under $850

I got a quote from www.shox.com for bilstein sport shocks & H&R sport springs for $637 taxed & shipped.

Go on their site and e-mail them for a quote. If anyone knows of a lower price for the H&R sport springs & bilstein sport shocks as a package, I'd be interested to know also!

Labor, is up to you to find someone to do it locally, cheaply & correctly.

If labor is $150, and alignment another $50, it can be done correctly under $840.

Good luck,

timecop369

I'm still debating whether to get them or not at $637. I gotta wait till I sell my 1974 Porsche 914 first. Anyone interested?

Where are you going to get an allignment for $50 on a Mercedes? Just to answer some of your questions, you don't have to remove the shocks to change out springs. Spring pads are rubber pads ranging in different sizes from 1 to 5. (1 being the thinnest and so on) Shox.com is one of the more expensive places to get shocks. www.bimmerzone.com has them for about $80 a piece. What price have you found on springs? I can probably name a cheaper place for you to get them. Not only will you need an allignment, you will also need a camber kit. This is to adjust the good bit of negative camber you will have after lowering the car. The camber kit can be bought at the dealer. You will need 4 of them at $7.50 a piece. Well I believe that's about it. Just let me know about the price on those springs.

I have no clue man. The thing is, I am only 17 so I dont have that much money to just get the best everything. Yes, I can afford lowering my car but I rather go the cheapest route. I make like 100 bucks a week man so I cant really get all crazy with modifications. Right now I gotz like 900 bucks so I hope it is enough to lower my car.

That sucks. Well at least you're lucky enough to have such a nice car at such a young age. Hang on, I'll let you in on a secret. It's the MBWorld code. I'm just being stupid now, but hang on, I'll save you some money on lowering.
