Question Help With Shocks and springs

Hey peeps, i have a 95 c280 and just bought 18's. Obviously 18's would not be completed without being lowered. Im thinking about getting eibach pro kit springs. My question is, is it neccessay to get shocks with them? From all the forum info, seems like i do. Also I've been looking around and Blistein shock seems to be the #1 choice. WHere can i find these? I've tried going to some of the sites members of this forum posted and couldnt find anything for c class. Is it under some other catergory? THanks !

Well at least you brought up a subject that's never been talked about before. When is someone ever going to ask about what grill they should go with. With my personal experience you do have to change out the shocks as well. I only got about 11 hours out of mine. I have heard that if you already have new shocks they should be ok for a while. I wouldn't want to tear them up though, because you will. As far as where to get Bilsteins, I like www.bimmerzone.com . TP knows of another place that is a few bucks cheaper if you are going to get all four. I can never remember the name of it though. (It's not that much cheaper) Where are you getting the Eibach pro kit from? How much is it? I'm always trying to find really good deals on stuff so let me know.

Well it looks like bimmerzone doesn't carry bilstien sport shocks anymore. I'm sure TP will put his place on here when he gets on.

I've never heard of eshocks before. They are a couple dollars cheaper than bimmerzone was. Yo Ryan, I was looking at your website. You are kidding about that C43 engine swap right? The transmission alone is 12,000 dollars. You should just buy a real C43.

That's the place! Man I can't believe you didn't get any bids on those springs. If you had those a couple months ago I would've been all over those. Bummer Dude.

hawhat??? Put down a link.

no1 knows how much it will lower your car.
Somewhere in the area of 1.5 inches. They all seem to do that except for Intrax which lowers about 2 inches. Who cares how much it lowers anyway. Just change out your spring pads to fine tune it. and yes, BUY TP'S SPRINGS. YOU'D BE AN IDIOT NOT TOO!!! They're Brabus for God's sake.

$215 + $30 shipping = $245

From tP, you get real Brabus springs for $200 + no shipping = $200. Plus he can install them for relatively cheap.

Also, that chart for Eibach on the amount of lowering is bogus. No one knows how much YOUR PARTICULAR CAR will be lowered. I put Eibachs in my C43, it was supposed to be 1.2" drop all around. It was more like 2" and I had to up my spring pads so that the car would not rub. I have pics to prove it.

Is their a particular Bilstein shock you need when lowering your car? Because i found a sight where they are selling Bilstein shock absorber heavy duty for 83.88 a pair. And in the other hand i've seen that some have Bilstein sport shocks. Is their a difference. Heres the site check it out.

There is a difference between Sport and Heavy Duty. If you're going to lower it, get Sport. If you're going to put a 4X4 transaxle on it, get Heavy Duty.
