Mod: How to install an emergency trunk release?
Hi,
Is there a way to install a button on the inside of the trunk to open it... say if a kid or someone accidentally got locked inside. I have a 2000 model, and it doesn't have one. But I feel like it would be a good safety feature. I'm just not sure how to do it. Would it need to be mechanical? Or could I solder in a button somewhere?
Once I could install one, I'd put glowing tape around it, or maybe just leave a small flashlight taped nearby. haha

It was just a joke... I dont know how to open the trunk from inside, never think about this... On my car the opening is mechanical, a pushbutton, some small rods, only the locking is vacuum controlled, nothing electrical, so its a little complicated to install an opening lever. But if you have an electrical opening system, you can do it easyer, installing a normally "open" button to double command the opening system.
