99 C230 Kompressor only 40K miles/wheels?
Time to put some new tires/shoes on her and decided to go ahead and update the wheels to 18" inchers while I'm at it.
I HAVE used the search feature for two solid days but the variables involved have given me a whopper headache.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
It's only 4:15 AM too !
Out of desperation I'm going to ask you fine folks some stupid questions and I hope someone will help me out here.
I have a chance to buy some very nice used 18" x 8" wheels in the style I have been looking for at a great price.
It obviously will not be staggered and the tires will be new Yokohama 225/40/18.
The offset on the new wheels is undetermined exactly but is between 35mm to 42mm.
I think the stock Kompressor wheels are 35mm to 37mm depending where the info is located??
The 18" wheels have the correct 5 x 112mm lug pattern.
They originally came off a 1999 Audi A4 and the Audi had a center bore of 57.1mm
I know the C230's center bore is around 66.56mm
Will this be a deal killer or are hubrings the answer here?
My other concern (one of them) is whether I will have clearance issues on the front strut or anywhere in the rear.
(very little clearance in the front even running bone stock wheels)
I would like to avoid running any spacers on the car if possible.
And yet I wonder if the car will end up looking wrong or jacked up like a Gangsta 4 x 4 if the stock suspension remains intact.
If anyone has this similar set-up or knowledge as to whether this combination is fine or ill advised please let me know what you think.
It is GREATLY appreciated !!
Gonna take a few aspirin and get some sleep.
Thanks In Advance.

lots of cars
You can have the center bore machined, but the problem with audi wheels is also that they use a 14mm lug bolt. You might want to lower your car before going with 18s. I have a nice set of SLK 16" wheels and if you want a more conservative look go with 17s.
BTW, 18x8 35-42mm off fits fine with a 225/40/18 tire... I have a staggered set with 255/35/18 on the rear

thanks
These wheels turned out not to be Audi specific and have a 76mm center bore.
So with some hubcentric 76mm to 66.56 rings they should work out fine with no machining.
The machining was never even a viable consideration or option to me.
Very glad to confirm that the 18x8 35-42mm off fits fine with a 225/40/18 tires.
I'll put'em on and see how she sits.
If it looks like a doggone 4x4 I'll obviously have to reconsider lowering her.
I appreciate your reply very much.
