For lowered cars I highly recommend Bilstein Sport Shocks. You can get them here for $323. http://www.pure-motorsport.com/produ...1965119/II=155

I'm all for original equipment. The Bilsteins are superb. Koni is also a German brand so it is also an excellent choice. The other great thing about Koni is you can adjust the firmness. The Bilsteins are exactly as firm as I would want them to be without being a harsh ride. It's just whatever you prefer.

Koni is actually a company based in the Netherlands, not Germany.
They're both excellent shocks, I'd prefer the Koni's, just for their adjustability. Their compression rates are generally a little softer, for a more comfortable ride.

I have the Koni adjusteable sport shocks...the first shock started to leak after less then 2 years and only 150k kilometer...it took 3 months before I received the warranty (thus for free) shock (so I drove 25k kilometer on a worn shock) which struck me since I live in that same small Netherlands were these shocks are manufactured
and now after another 5 months and 30k kilometer that replacement shock is blown as well...
My new replacement shock came in a lot faster (withing 1 week) and Koni even threw in one extra shock for the next replacement
.
The Koni shocks handle very nice...and the waranty plus service isn't too bad...

1. I didn't realize Koni's were made in the Netherlands. Glad to know that now.
2. Yes Mercedes stock shocks are Bilstein comfort shocks.
3. Yes I am riding on Carlsson springs.
4. No, Bilstein does not make springs.
5. I honestly don't remember who makes Mercedes stock springs. I think it is one of the main companies like H&R or Eibach. I just can't remember for sure.

If your gonna do the shocks, do the springs at the same time. It will save you labor costs.
As well, sport shocks are a little shorter then the regular shocks to accomodate for the shorter sping rate.

Whose car is already lowerd? Rincewind's? It's bone stock except for the nice wax job. You can go ahead and put on Bilstein Sport Shocks. It will actually help your handling out a good bit.
