Test Driving 2000 C 230 Tomorrow, Q's
Hello all, I am going to test drive a 2000 C 230 Kompressor tomorrow and I would like some opinions as to what to look for (or look out for). The car has 135K miles and carfax shows it as a 2 owner and that it had it's 75K mile maintance but lists nothing after that maintenance wise.
The lady (an individual) is asking $3800.
She mentioned that the windows would roll down but they roll back up very slowly, she said about an inch at a time. I researched the issue and it seems that maybe she got a new battery and the windows weren't reset. Any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I hopw to be a proud MB owner tomorrow!

The windows just need to be resynchronized. No problem there.
If you're not too sure on how well it was maintained, take it to an authorized MB indie and get an inspection, or go to a dealership for one.

thepinoc gave you great information, especially about getting the inspection. Pay for an inspection from a very experienced MB mechanic/specialist, not a generalist. You can rack up $3800 in additional expenses in no time if you buy a car with problems.

Thanks for the info guys. I took it for a drive and liked the way it rode and drove, however it was pretty rough in and out. I know I can't be too picky in my price range but I know I can do better.

$3800 for a 2000 that's kinda low? I paid $8900 for my 2000 C280 back in 08 and I overlooked stuff wish I knew what to look for. Normal stuff like tire wear, brake pads, if it has a cd-changer check connections, over time mine died due to a rusted kink in the cable which I fixed. Hesitating wiper, normal wear & tear stuff. Engine oil leaks around gaskets.
