Squeek noise from aux fan
i brought mine in banawe and had the bearing replaced. normally, mechanics would advice to replace the whole assembly. but if the carbon brush is still good it would still be cheaper to replace the bearing than the whole assembly. the whole assembly would cost around Php 3,500.00 (surplus) whereas bearing replacement; less than Php 500.00 including labor.
dude,
PM me your contact details. i'm interested in installing HID on my ride. i'd like to see the one that your brother has that you posted on the other thread.

have an epic ride tomorrow. cainta to nasugbu via hardtail bike. and i'm still awake. ;-(
I don't trust people in Banawe, I'd rather import a brand new one than have it repaired there. I'll go talk to some electrician and see if they can fix it for me.
sorry for the late reply.
you can find out which fan by isolating which one is making the noise by disconnecting one by one the power supply of each aux fan. remove first the grille, then the plastic protector grille and trace the power supply wire which supplies the "juice" to the fan and carefully remove each connector and reconnecting it one at a time at the same observing which side makes the noise.

as for the repair of your aux fan, you can still do so in banaue as long you can watch the work being done you the part. set conditions that you need to see it or watch it before agreeing on having it repaired otherwise, no deal.

no, i,m not part of ironman. i just ride leisurely and see where it will take me or how far i can push myself.

let me know where you had it fixed.
