Blown fuel pump fuse

On our way home tonight, 99 C280 quits. Car cranks but no start. Poked through fuses and found fuel pump fuse is blown. Replaced with same amp fuse which immediately blew as well.

Some posts suggest fuel pump relay. Where is it located on a 99 C280?

I hope it's not the fuel pump itself.

Thanks!

Oops. found it

Found it.
Siemens part A 002 542 1319

looking online for replacement. Seems this part is no longer made by Siemens?

Still hoping it's not my fuel pump.

relay is OK

Fuel pump relay is OK. It's the fuel pump. I'm about to order one online but there is something about "must have Mercedes dealer conversion parts per Mercedes factory warranty". What the heck is that about? Since I purchased the car out of warranty, I have no idea if this has been done.

Anyone seen this?

replaced fuel pump

Replaced fuel pump. Car is better now.
I think it's been weak for some time because it drives nicer than ever (I've owned it for 2 1/2 years).

Not a hard job. Just messy. couldn't quite get the electrical connector grommet to seat properly where it enters the trunk. But even in my heated garage, it's pretty cold so I may have to wait for summer to get it to go in perfectly.
