knocking sound

knocking sound
i bought a car 2 weeks ago and it had a bad head gasket so i took care of that and now its runing but there is a knocking sound idk from where.. could it be a bad valve? i also put 20-50 motor oil is that okay? (156000 miles)

Way too little information regarding the sound. At least try to figure out the general area where it is coming from. Also, does it go away or changes tone with RPMs? Etc. etc.

Its coming from the back of the engine (cylinders 5 or 6 ) in that area.. When I put high rpms it does go away but yew could still kind of hear it also when the car has been driving for a while like 20 min or so the sound goes away a little
