Please help!...cleaned MAF now car just dies
Please help guys, i pulled the MAF out yesterday to spray that cleaning solution on it, well after i did that and reinstalled it, I started the car up and went to drive it and it went into that "limp home mode" where it will just idle and any throttle at all just causes the car to stall, well lets put it this way it won't take throttle at all. So then i disconnected the wire to the MAF and car seems to run fine, just seems to maybe lack a little power. Did i ruin the MAF by cleaning it , any thoughts guys?

I had one of these cars in a few weeks ago.. similar symptoms but it was throwing the CEL on for the camshaft hall sensor.. if you unplugged the MAF it would run but as you said would be lacking power. Replace your MAF and it will work just fine..

Did you use MAF cleaning fluid? Some people use carb cleaner, etc., and that will likely cause damage. As others have said, it's very easy to do one of these in by cleaning so best bet is to buy a new one and be safe and satisfied. Avoid the eBay listings and buy from a quality source (like Autohausaz) to ensure you really are getting what you paid for.
